Why did you choose this story ? A :  When I began writing Blood Heir, I had just gone to Russia for a college graduation trip, and I fell in love with the history of this grand country and how it came to be in today’s world: a story of royalty and bloodshed and revolution. I was fascinated by the Romanov family, the shortcomings that led to their demise, and specifically, the legend of the “lost” Duchess Anastasia.
